Spin-A-Thon in Austin to Benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation

On February 5, Castle Hill Fitness in Austin will be host to a 3-hour Spin-A-Thon, with proceeds going to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The idea was spearheaded by Erin Truslow, who has produced a similar event in the past in her hometown of Santa Rosa, Calif. The 24-hour Spin-A-Thon helped her achieve ‘Yellow Jersey’ status at the Ride for the Roses, as the event brought in $75,000 over three years.

“Once moving to Austin, I thought I would be able to create the same type of thing, however it has taken me 5 years to find a good facility to bring it back,” stated Erin. Castle Hill Fitness will provide the perfect local venue for the comeback of the event. “My goal is to have all 30 bikes going for the full 3 hours.”

Erin will be hosting the event with David Garza, who just earned the title of top Indoor Cycling Instructor in Austin Fit Magazine’s Annual ‘Best Of’ Poll, and they have some great giveaways lined up for each hour of the event.

“You can sign up for a single hour for $25.00, two hours for $50.00 or 3 hours for just $60.00. All of the money goes to the Lance Armstrong Foundation as part of our fundraising efforts for the LIVESTRONG Austin Marathon.”

With a limit of 30 people per hour, you can email erin [at] castlehillfitness [dot] com to reserve your bike! Be sure to include who you are donating in honor or in memory of, as Erin is planning a special tribute to these survivors.
